South Hill may not have the same name recognition as a Rosedale or a Forest Hill, but it is every bit as glamorous and exclusive as these other elite Toronto neighbourhoods. The area is dominated by an escarpment which was formed by the former Lake Iroquois during the ice ages. This hill allows residents to enjoy the city from a complimentary point of view, not to mention, Casa Loma is in the shadows providing additional beauty. Defined by Avenue Road, South Hill contains some of the largest houses in Toronto. Dotted in with the upscale homes are condominiums that are relatively new, and you will also find a few upscale rental apartment buildings. South Hill is within walking distance to the Royal Ontario Art Museum, University of Toronto, Yorkville, Bloor Street and the multi-cultural excitement of St. Clair. And for the outdoor enthusiast you can enjoy outdoor nature trails and sights of the Nordheimer Ravine which will connect you to the Beltline Trail. Also enjoy Winston Churchill Park which is popular for its running track, playground and 10 tennis courts. Finally, St. Clair Reservoir is also close by and a favourite of dog walkers.
